Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQ for quick, reliable answers to questions about skiKrumb devices, the app, and how to get started.

1. Hold down the larger button just below the power button for 3 seconds until it beeps. Note that you must be connected to the skiKrumb network for the alert button to work.

2. Anyone who the device has been shared with will get a notification in the app and on their phone.

3. When you acknowledge the alert in the app, it will send a message to the device that will make it beep for 10 seconds so they know that someone has heard the message.

4. If it is an emergency, call the local ski patrol or 911.

skiKrumb works at all partner resorts. skiKrumb works in most locations on the mountain that are open to the public, but there are areas where coverage cannot be guaranteed. As we find areas that are not covered by our network we will continue to improve coverage throughout the season.

skiKrumb doesn’t share individual user data and behavior with third parties. skiKrumb may share aggregated data and statistics with the ski resort. skiKrumb will share individual user locations with the resort in the event of an emergency.

Launched in the 2024/25 season, skiKrumb Unbound takes connection a step further. When every family member has a skiKrumb GPS Tracker, the devices communicate directly with your phone — no cell network required. For example, if your child is skiing on the far side of the mountain without a cellphone, you can still see their location on your phone, even outside cell coverage.

Before heading out, tap the Unbound button in the app to download offline maps. Then choose which skiKrumb devices will act as Unbound receivers. We recommend assigning the parent trackers as receivers, not the children’s. For best performance, only two devices should be designated as Unbound receivers.

The skiKrumb app can be downloaded from either the App Store for iOS users, or from the Google Play Store for android users.

skiKrumb devices are available for use at Marmot Basin, Sun Peaks, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Mt Sima, Big White Ski Resort, SilverStar Mountain Resort, Mt Washington Ski Resort and Apex Mountain Ski Resorts. We’re expanding each season to more ski resorts, join our mailing list to stay up-to-date and be the first to know.

In the meantime, if you have any questions/feedback for us, or you would like to recommend a ski hill for us to have a chat with, we would love to hear from you here

The current design of the skiKrumb devices is about the size of a vehicle key-fob or small garage door opener.

  • AirTags Didn’t Work. skiKrumb Did.

My young son went into the trees last year and didn’t come out. Twice. We had AirTags on them and they did nothing. skiKrumb gives me peace of mind if it happens again. My son loves the replays and it’s the first thing he wants to look at when he gets home. We never leave home without it

  • Finding our kids is now simple.

We are visiting from Australia. Last year our son got lost. He had a cellphone but we still couldn’t find him. We have 6 skiKrumbs and love using it every day. I can see where my son is on the mountain and meet up with him without having to text.
