Real Families. Real Stories.

Peace of mind told from the slopes

From first-time parents to seasoned ski families, skiKrumb has become more than just a GPS tracker, it’s part of their mountain experience. Hear how moms, dads, and kids are using skiKrumb to ski with confidence and freedom, stay connected, and bring peace of mind to every run.

Freedom to be wild, peace to stay present

Pro skier Tessa Treadway is raising her three sons to be brave, wild, and free. But with three fast, talented skiers heading in different directions, the mental load of keeping them safe can be heavy. For Tessa, skiKrumb has transformed the family dynamic on the slopes. By bridging the gap between mountain anxiety and her boys’ independence, she can finally trade worry for presence. “I was totally able to manage all of those worries. I could just pull out my phone, see where they were, and go and ski and have fun. Very freeing.”

Two kids, two speeds, one peace of mind

Ski days can be tricky when kids ski at different speeds — one racing ahead, the other lagging behind. For this parent of two under 12, skiKrumb has made those moments easier. Knowing both kids are safely tracked brings peace of mind, while the replays have become their favorite part of the day. “They were actually both really excited to have them… they’re excited every day to put them on.

As routine as grabbing a helmet before the lift

skiKrumb has become just as important as any other piece of essential gear. They wouldn’t send their kids onto the mountain without a helmet and now, they feel the same way about skiKrumb. It keeps their children safe from getting lost, gives them peace of mind on every run, and has quickly become part of their family’s ski routine. “You wouldn’t send your kids out without a helmet, and I would not send them without a skiKrumb.”

Logging hours at work, sharing runs from afar

As a father of two young skiers who works remotely, Ryan loves that skiKrumb lets him feel part of every run, even when he isn’t on the mountain. He can watch the exact trails his kids skied, share in their day from afar, and even let relatives follow along from across the border. For Ryan, skiKrumb isn’t just about safety — it’s about staying connected as a family. “It’s great that I can still experience the day with my kids as if I’m up there with them.”

Freedom for their racer, peace for the parents

When your child is a ski racer, keeping up isn’t always easy. For the Ramsays, skiKrumb has changed everything. From the thrill of watching their son make the first kids’ run down Parachute Bowl at Big White, to the comfort of knowing they’ll stay connected wherever they ski next, skiKrumb has given them something priceless: peace of mind. “We’re just so thrilled to have him on skiKrumb this year. It’s giving me a lot of peace of mind.”

our favourite snowboard family test out skikrumb on vacation

Taking the family on a snowboard trip should be about fresh powder and carving memories, not the constant worry of getting separated in unfamiliar terrain. This season, our favourite snowboarding family @chasing.sage took skiKrumb along for their vacation to see if it lived up to the hype. “At the very least, it’s going to provide valuable peace of mind, and when it matters most, it’s going to help you find your child, it could save a life.”

More reasons why families choose skiKrumb GPS Trackers

  • “My young son went into the trees last year and didn’t come out. Twice. We had AirTags on them and they did nothing. skiKrumb gives me peace of mind if it happens again. My son loves the replays and it’s the first thing he wants to look at when he gets home. We never leave home without it”
    Michael, Family of 4
  • “We are visiting from Australia. Last year our son got lost. He had a cellphone but we still couldn’t find him. We have 6 skiKrumbs and love using it every day. I can see where my son is on the mountain and meet up with him without having to text.”
    Jodi Family of 6
  • “I squealed with joy when my son left for ski club this morning. Just being able to see him moving makes me feel so much better.”

    Ashley, Family of 3
  • “We got to the mountain late and decided to pick up the skiKrumb in the morning. Our son got lost in the trees for 20 minutes. We had a mesh network radio but it didn’t work, even less than 100 feet away. We thought he was struggling. He was fine, but we won’t ski without our skiKrumb.”
    Karen, Family of 4
  •  “We’re so thrilled to have our son on skiKrumb this year. It’s giving me a lot of peace of mind. When we go to another hill that we’re not that familiar with and he goes one way and I go another, it’s nice to be able to pull out my phone and see exactly where he is.”
    Todd, Family of 3
  • “We used skiKrumb for the first time at Sun Peaks and it made our trip so much more relaxing. Knowing we could track our twins in ski school gave us total confidence to enjoy our own runs.”

Launched in the 2024/25 season, skiKrumb Unbound takes connection a step further. When every family member has a skiKrumb GPS Tracker, the devices communicate directly with your phone — no cell network required. For example, if your child is skiing on the far side of the mountain without a cellphone, you can still see their location on your phone, even outside cell coverage.

Before heading out, tap the Unbound button in the app to download offline maps. Then choose which skiKrumb devices will act as Unbound receivers. We recommend assigning the parent trackers as receivers, not the children’s. For best performance, only two devices should be designated as Unbound receivers.

The skiKrumb app can be downloaded from either the App Store for iOS users, or from the Google Play Store for android users.

skiKrumb devices are available for use at Sun Peaks, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Mt Sima, Big White Ski Resort, SilverStar Mountain Resort, Mt Washington Ski Resort and Apex Mountain Ski Resorts. We’re expanding each season to more ski resorts, join our mailing list to stay up-to-date and be the first to know.

In the meantime, if you have any questions/feedback for us, or you would like to recommend a ski hill for us to have a chat with, we would love to hear from you here

The current design of the skiKrumb devices is about the size of a vehicle key-fob or small garage door opener.
